Really?  Really?  This might be old news, but I just saw this.  And by the way, is this Couric interview ten days long or what?  Every time I browse around the internet there is a new clip of moose-for-brains in that ridiculous pink suit blabbing incoherently about loose nukes, Pakistan, the bailout, and moose jerky.

I need two things from potential VP Palin:

1.  I need her to speak in complete sentences.  There is clearly something in the beauty pageant manual about stammering about and then trailing off when you don’t know how to answer a question.   How is “everywhere like such as” different from “(mid-sentence) maybe I would take issue with but…(trail off).”  What the F are you saying?  String together a noun and a verb, then pause.  Rinse and repeat.  Throw in an adjective if you are feeling frisky.  Not that hard.

2.  I need someone in the #2 spot that has at least thought about the issues of our day prior to being VP.  Honestly.  Anyone.  Someone off the street that has, oh, I don’t know, read a paper in the past 20 years, and sat there and thought about what they read.  Maybe discussed it with a friend or a co-worker.  Maybe took a position on it.  Anything.  Just some indication that she has the ability to analyze an issue.  Any issue.

Ugh.

As long as we’re discussing dipshit GOPs, let’s focus on the horse coming out of Tennessee. Apparently, Freddy D isn’t really all that interested in running for the big chair anyway. But that’s why he thinks he’s the best guy for the job. Whoa, Fred. You almost tripped me up there.

Now, I’ve said over and over again why I think we never have competent presidents. Because the type of person who wants to run for President is the exact one you don’t want in the White House. There are plenty of people out there with the intelligence, patience, and leadership skills required to effectively run this country. It just so happens that those are the same people who are way too smart to ever put themselves and their families through a presidential campaign.

My theory notwithstanding, I’m not buying this ploy by Thompson. I think he’s just lazy. If I were a contributor to his campaign, I’d have a serious case of the red ass right now. Reportedly, when asked to comment on all the early supporters of his who now want their money back, Thompson borrowed a line from his character in Die Hard 2: “The line starts at the Mississippi and they better start taking numbers.”

Wow. I can barely find the words to comment on this brand of stupidity.

A little advice for Gov. Huckabee: It’s called a daily foreign policy briefing from your campaign staff. Might want to look into setting that up, considering that Bhutto’s assassination is the most talked about foreign policy issue since an intelligence report last month found that Iran suspended its nuclear weapons program. Which Gov. Huckabee also did not know about. Or the fact the Pakistan is not currently under martial law. Gov. Huckabee didn’t know about that either.

At a minimum, somebody get this guy a New York Times and 10 minutes in the bathroom.
